 Welcome to Young’s Cottages, located on the beautiful and pristine Palmerston Lake, near the hamlet of Ompah, in the North Frontenac/Land O’ Lakes region of Eastern Ontario. We have cottaged and/or resided in this still relatively unspoiled area for over 50 years. We have raised our children here and are now enjoying watching our grandchildren grow to love these surroundings as we do.
Palmerston Lake is a paradise for swimming, boating and fishing with average summer water temperatures as warm as 24C. It is one of a few clear water, spring-fed lakes in the area that has remained unaffected by acid rain. It is approximately 5 km in length, has a surface area of 5.39km(2), has depths ranging from 20-56 meters and has a strong Lake Trout and Bass habitat; although it is currently being stocked to supplement the natural population.
Our smoke/pet free cottages are open year round and are quickly booked up during the high season and ordinarily better than 50% of our clientele are repeat visitors. Bookings begin in earnest in January; we recommend inquiring early to ensure you receive your preferred vacation time. There is significantly higher availability during Low season with reasonable rates. Long weekends, stat holidays and all regularly scheduled school breaks have a tendency to fill up faster, i.e. Christmas, New Years, March Break and Easter, Victoria Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving etc. We take pleasure in hosting families with children as well as ATV and snowmobile enthusiasts. |
