Notes

Palmerston Lake is a very deep, clean, clear, spring fed lake and invites it's visitors to enjoy marvelous water sports while still retaining it's relatively unspoiled features.
The Pioneer cottage is located just a few minutes from the OFSA and EOTA snowmobile and ATV trails, unlimited public access to miles of crown land and dozens of lakes is abundant. Partake in many of the other outdoor activities available in this area such as X-country skiing, ice fishing during the winter months and swimming, boating and fishing during the Summer months. A short hike up to our “Lookout” offers a breathtaking panoramic view of both Palmerston Lake and Canonto Lake. This is just a taste of what outdoor country life in The Land O' Lakes is all about.

The use of a rowboat, paddleboat and canoe including life jackets and boating safety kit are included. There is a covered boat lift for dry storage of your own boat and the public boat launch is a short distance away. Blankets and pillows are provided year round, however you must bring your own linen and towels, also paper products. We provide you with a few, often forgotten or overlooked items when packing, such as coffee filters, dish soap, T-towels and dish cloths, salt and pepper, clothespins, candles, matches and garbage bags. We encourage recycling at all times.

Unfortunately, there is no cell phone service in this area, except at the top of the “Lookout”. Public Internet access is available at the Library and at The Double”S” Sports and Marina Store in Ompah. There are other privately owned cottages in the area but no resorts making boat traffic on the lake and traffic noise minimal. Your hosts reside year round on the same waterfront property so are always available for assistance. We appreciate family guests and couples who just want a quiet getaway.
