  The hamlet of Ompah includes a very friendly Sports/Marina/ general store offering boat rentals, movie rentals, gas, bait, licenses, dry goods, take out ice cream, chip wagon during the summer months etc. The next village of Plevna has a nice family restaurant and grocery store, mini golf, gas, propane exchange, bottle return, also an LCBO. Many golf courses located within one hour and downhill skiing at Calabogie is approximately a one hour drive. The cottages are close to all groomed snowmobile and ATV trails, ATV rentals and delivery from Perth.
There are many other lovely lakes in the area including Crotch, Mosque, Canonto, Granite, The Quinns, Summit and Mair on crown land with public access, good fishing and boating. Palmerston Lake is a 5 km long spring fed, crystal clean, clear lake boasting great Bass and Lake Trout fishing. The lovely towns of Perth, Lanark village and Balderson have quaint shops and a variety of eat-in and fast food restaurants.
 Must sees and do’s in the area include a visit to Bon Echo Provincial park offering a full day of things to see and do including the famous pictographs, The Bonnechere Caves in Eganville, a short hike up to the “Lookout” for a panoramic view of Palmerston Lake and Canonto Lake and The OCA Fish Hatchery where our proud volunteers from the community raise Lake Trout annually for release into Palmerston Lake. For those of you whose hobby is Geocaching, there are two geocache locations in the vicinity of the hatchery and the Lookout.
